Warhammer 40K (9th ed) - Forward Push

We decided for a game of 40k of 1000 pts incursion, with
Cabal of the Black Heart and Red Creif Cult, vs. Tzeench Cult of Time. The scenario rolled is forward Push and we both decide for Assassinate and Thin their rank as secondary objectives.

Turn 1
All in order, Tzeench have foreseen the upcoming battle and takes the first turn. Most chaos troops move forward, while the Tzeenchgors hold the home objective. In the psychic phase the psykters destroy the venom holding the Incubi.

Dhrukari advance and unleash all weapons' on the daemon prince and the Hell brute. The Hell brute goes down from the Raider mounted warriors, while the Deamon prince saves all incoming fire (with 3++).

Turn 2
Chaos scores two objectives.

The Deamon prince prepare to assault the Wych raider, while the psychic phase knocks a few wounds off the Razorwing. Shooting bring down the Razor wing to 4 wounds. The Deamon prince Charge the Wych raider, scoring 6 wounds, but the raider saves 4 of them with 6:es!. In return, the pointy raider inflict a wound in melee on the daemon prince.

Dhrukari scores two objectives

Dhrukari wyches dismount and the incubi prepare to assault the marines inside the rhino. However, shooting fail to destroy the rhino, so does the Incubi in Melee, leaving the rhino with 1 wound remaining. Again, the Deamon prince saves all incoming fire, but lose 6 more wounds to the wyches in melee, and the Succubus only takes 2 wounds in return.

Turn 3
Chaos scores another two objectives.

The rubric marines dismount the Rhino, and vaporize the Incubi in a torrent of fire, The daemon prince and a sorcerer blast the succubus brain to fragments with psychic powers, but the badly wounded daemon prince is killed in Melee.

Dhrukari score another two objectives.

The archon dismount and the wyches advance on the rubric marines. Dhrukari shooting takes a heavy toll on the Chaos troopers, and the archon (loosing it's shadow field in overwatch) kill the rhino mounted rubric marines, while the wyches takes down the last rubric marines in the middle, losing most of the squad in defensive fire,

Turn 4
At this point Tzeench has only the Tzangors left, while Dhrukari lost a succubus, a venom and the incubi (as well as a few wounds on vehicles), so we call it a Dhrukari victory at this point.

For this matchup Dhrukari felt like the stronger list.

Team Yankee - Encounter

2021:s first miniature battles are a game of 40K and a Team Yankee.

Scenario: Encounter
Forces: 80 pts West German Leopard 1 company vs Soviet Breakthrough battalion.

Turn 1
Germans starts the battle by moving ahead on their right flank and shoots out a T-72 and a BMP3. The Soviet army push ahead on their right flank and manage to destroy a Leopard 1. Soviet air support arrives, but one Frogfoot is  shot down by AA. The remaining one misses the Leo 2:s.

Turn 2
West German forces moves ahead to secure one of the objectives. Another T-72 is destroyed, as well as all 4 BMP 2:s. Only 3 infantry survive the explosion. The tornado arrives, ranging in on the T-80:s, destroying one.

In soviet response, the army push down towards the German objective. Shooting results in a platoon of Leo1:s destroyed, and the remaining Frogfoot arrives again, hitting a Leo 2, but only inflicts a bailed result! With two remaining T-80, the soviet beasts launch an assault on the grenadiers knowing they cant be hurt by the the infantry. The Germans are however still contesting the objective.

Flames of war - Big battle - Normandy - v4

 Big battle of Normandy 1944

German Panzer division (300 pts)
Formation 1 Pnz Company (mixed)
Formation 2 Pnz Company (mixed)
Formation 3 Pnz Company (french)
Support, Artillery, inf, AT-guns, AA-guns
Dug in on at the village: Beach defence company

American armoured Division (300 pts)
Formation 1 Sherman Company
Formation 2 Sherman Company
Formation 3 Armored rifle company
Support: Tank destroyers, Artillery, AA-guns, Air-support
Forward position: Airborne 101 dug in at the beach-heads.

Objectives:
On the battlefield is seven strategic locations, including 3 bridges, 2 hills, and the town. The side holding most objectives at the end of their turns respectively will consider the battle a strategic victory.

Each side will begin with a platoon and HQ from each formation while the remaining forces are arriving from reserve. The Germans will also start with artillery and AT-guns, as well as a poorly trained company of infantry holding the frontlines.

Americans have paradropped two platoons of Airborne dug in at the beach-heads, delaying the German reserves. Allies gets the first turn after a German artillery strike.

Turn 1
The Allies push ahead and encounter resistance in the fields ahead of the village. A few defenders are killled but the mayority holds the line. German armored reserves are arriving along the roads.

Turn 2
With all core companies on the battlefield, both sides struggle to reach the town. Not many causalities are inflicted, but a few defenders as well as a few tanks are destroyed.

Turn 3
Divisional support arrives on both sides. The tigers reinforce the battle, but one is lost to the Sherman 76s. The town is now occupied by the German panzer company, while the armored rifles struggle to cross the HMG nests deployed in the village. The Germans break one of the airborne platoons holding one of the bridges, opening up a road to reinforce.

Turn 4
with both armies approaching the center, the faster moving Germans has the upper hand. However, continued fire from the massed Sherman's on the American left flank takes its toll of the panzers. On the US left flank, the Sherman takes a few shots over the river, destroying a few French tanks, while the armored rifles in the center find themselves pinned by fire.

Turn 5
At the beginning of turn five, one of the Airborne platoons are still holding the bridge against the French tank company. But massed fire and the oncoming assault finally push the paras back.
The wooden bridge is held by the Americans, but a reckless blitz move takes a panzer close enough to contest it.

Final scoring
To even out the odds in a big battle, we decided to count the points in each of the sides last turn. Most objectives where contested, but each side held two objectives.

Another turn would have been more decisive, as the assault was stalled for a few turns due to the dug in infantry on both sides. But as long as it lasted, it felt like a good simulation of historical events that could have been.
