Great war Campaign part 3

Third out in the Great war campaign is the British fighting the Germans in "The green fields beyond".  Both sides field 1500 pts of veteran infantry and support.

As a fair fight, both armies have the pressure to advance and the Stossplatoon takes the lead by securing the nearby wood.

After heavy fighting and some stank support the British breaks the hardened Stoss platoon.

After three turns of tank dueling the British tanks prevail.

Without its commander the HMGs can only attempt to destroy the tank securing the objective. The manage to inflict a point of damage, but not enough to stop the British from winning.

Great war Campaign part 2

The second set of Great war battles at Bunkerkommando offered a full 1500 pts "tank heavy" battle between Germany and the British and 1200-ish battle between Austro-hungary and the British.

The scenario is "Through mud and blood"with the Central powers assaulting the trenches now occupied by the British.

"The left flank"

On the left flank the German tanks prove in penetrable and the British struggle to stop the oncoming assault. The Central powers take home the victory.

"The right flank"

On the right flank the Austro-Hungarians fail to break the British force despite successful air interceptions and superior numbers. The Austro-Hungarian troops seems to lacks the training of other battle hardened western front fighters. The British take home the victory.

Great war campaign part 1

We try out a couple of games of FoW Great war at Bunkerkommando with the aim to play thought the scenarios of the book while escalating the points. First out is two parallel "the big push" with forces around 800 pts.

Somewhere in the outskirts of Cambrai in the late summer of 1918 the Allied forces has started the counter offensive against the Siegfried line held by the central powers.  Two similar British forces assault the central powers lines defended by Germany and Austria-Hungary.

A few notes:
Austro-Hungarian troops are played as Trained Germans.
A single ground attack aircraft can be called in with the following properties:
MG: to-hit:3+ AT:2 FP:-
Bomb: to-hit:4+ AT:2 FP:5+

"The right flank"

The right flank battle ended in a Allied victory, as the female tank rampaged the Austro Hungarian lines. Also added in for some extra flavor was a bi-plane providing some limited air support.

"The left flank"

On the left flank the German defenders could fend off the British offensive!
