Warhammer 40k - v8 - 2000pts

A scenic grudge match between the bitter sons of Perturabo and Rogal Dorn is at Hand. The Imperial fist takes the initiative and leads the attack.

The scenario is chose from chapter approved 2018 (cant recall the name) and played at 2000 pts with 5 objectives, each generating a VP at the end of each round. Also, one objective decided by a die roll is worth 2 VP:s, and rolling a six on this die makes all objectives worth 2 VP:s. In addition, First strike, Line-breaker and Slay the warlord is generating an additional point.

Turn 1
The Iron warriors (IW) fail to seize the initiative. This turn All objectives are worth 2 points, offering a very mobile first turn. The Imperial fists (IF) destroy the IW Sicaran and a squad of blodletters. The IW destoy the scout squad and damage the flyer.

IF 2 obj + first strike
IW 6 obj+first strike

Turn 2
IF call for support dropping down veterans in a pod. The objective by the forest (where drop pod lands) are worth 2 pts. IF:s kills off one IW marine squad and the second blodletter squad. In return the IW:s deep strike Obliterators and terminators, rolling high enough to just barley destroy the Land raider. The following assault phase gets bloody as berzerkers and the daemon prince kills of a squad of marines and two of the Centurions.

IF 2 obj
IW 3 obj

Turn 3
The objective by the IW predator is worth 2 pts. With so much forces destoyed the IF:s can only kill off the cultist squad and inflict some damage on the deamon prince and the Hell blade flyer. The IWs destroy the IF flyer and one of the razorbacks, forcing Dorn's sons to retreat for a better day of battle.

IF 1 obj,  linebreaker x2
IW 4 obj, linebreaker x3

Iron warrior wins 16-8

However the victory should maybe have gone to the Imperial fists as the points for Obliterators where calculated wrong (being total 150pts over limit) as well as the IF forgetting call on their five man jump marine squad to the table.

The scenario was a lot interesting, giving more incentives to actually approach the objectives early on. This offers mobile units a well needed boost in purpose!
